TCL Products Debut at the First Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Exhibition
TCL Corporation's Production Launch of 6th Generation LTPS High-End Handset Display Panel to Enhance Core Competencies of TCL Communication's Industry Chain Management

(Hong Kong, 8 April 2016) - TCL Communication Technology Holdings Limited ("TCL Communication" or the "Company" which, together with its subsidiaries and its affiliates, is referred to as the "Group"; HKSE stock code: 2618) today announced the unaudited figures for shipments of handsets and other products in March and the first 3 months of 2016.
The Group's total sales volume of handsets and other products increased by 18% year-on-year to 6,696,000 units in March 2016. Sales volume of handsets and other products in overseas markets increased by 31% year-on-year to 6,388,000 units, while shipments in China market totalled 308,000 units. Sales volume of smart devices totalled 3,083,000 units, and accounted for 46% of the Group's total shipment for the month. For the first 3 months of 2016, the cumulative sales volume of handsets and other products increased by 9% to 17,209,000 units, while the cumulative sales volume of smart devices totalled 8,861,000 units.
In March, the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Exhibition (瀾湄國家合作展) (the "Exhibition") made its debut in Sanya, Hainan where the Group and other subsidiaries under TCL Corporationdisplayed a variety of self-developed high-tech products including mobile handsets, TV and home appliances. At the Exhibition, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, together with leaders of five Southeast Asian countries, visited the TCL exhibition booth and experienced smart devices of TCL Communication personally. The event facilitated the information exchange and coorperation between the Group and Southeast Asian countries, steadily promoting the international development of the brand. In addition, TCL Corporation spared no effort to upgrade its core technology and announced last month that the Wuhan-based, first 6th generation LTPS (low temperature poly-silicon) LCD display panels production line of TCL's China Star Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd (CSOT) has commenced production. Benefited from the production line's capability of producing high-end small-sized display panels, core competencies of the Group's industrial chain will be substaintially enhanced, thereby facilitate the entering of high-end smart devices market.
Furthermore, the Group's alcatel brand successfully held the Open Innovation Day in Madrid, Capital of Spain which attracted a number of high-tech innovative companies from Spain to gather at the event. alcatel Open Innovation Day aims to provide a technology-exchange platform for participants from all over the world, demonstrating the Group's continuous commitment in strengthening its core technology research.
According to telecommunications research firm International Data Corporation (IDC) and Company data, the Group's ranking jumped to No.3 among Australian handsets vendors in the 4th quarter of 2015. In March, the Group's alcatel brand was awarded the "Best of Best" Awards by Smarthouse, Australia's leading consumer electronics magazine and website, of which the Group's flagship product alcatel IDOL 3 was entitled "Best Value Smartphone", further strengthening the Group's influence in Australian region.
