Tank World Expo 2016, the definitive tank storage event for the Middle East and Africa regions brought together key players from over 45 countries from the bulk liquid storage industry, with over 1,200 visitors, 85 suppliers and 18 world-leading speakers.
The show, which took place on 12 & 13 April 2016, achieved an increased footfall, with major companies such as Fujairah Oil Terminal, ENOC, Galana Refinery Terminal SA, Hajar Oil, Port of Salalah and VTTI Fujairah Terminal in attendance.
Following this success, developments are underway for 2017 which will see the show rebranded to StocExpo Middle East Africa. Nick Powell, StocExpo & Tank Storage Portfolio Event Manager, comments: “We acquired Tank World Expo less than a year ago, and then proceeded to merge it with our own event, Tank Storage Middle East. The results have been outstanding, managing to attract many more visitors to an already established show, which is a phenomenal achievement. We’re thrilled and want to thank all those who attended, for making the show such a success. Having the very best and brightest of the tank storage industry under one roof is always cause for celebration and the feedback from visitors and exhibitors has been fantastic.”
His Excellency Dr Matar, Assistant Undersecretary for the UAE Ministry of Energy opened the show and gave the conference programme’s opening address. Companies such as Gulf Petrochem, Fujairah Terminal, CITAC Africa, and Orpic Logistics took to the stage, to discuss a range of subjects, from developments in the Oman storage sector and decreased oil prices to fire safety and Africa’s capacity.
One delegate, Shafeeq Ahmed, Purchasing Manager at Jallafco General Trading LLC summed up the seminar programme, stating: "The conference programme has been fantastic and hugely informative, thank you!”

Knowsley SK displayed its latest foam mixing technology – the Turbinator; Alma-Carbovac presented its new Flexicompt; MESA Engineered Tank Products introduced its vapor-guard gauge pole covers and Mascoat demonstrated its latest Mascoat Industrial-DTI.
Returning exhibitor, Alec Keeler, Managing Director at Loadtec Engineered Systems, commented: “Once again Easyfairs organised a high quality show with high quality visitors. It is very worthwhile and is a regular event in our diary.”
Hamida Nanda, DTY Manager – Projects at Gulf Petrochem agreed: “The show provided a good platform to showcase Gulf Petrochem and our business portfolio. It is also a good resource for making connections, networking and identifying new technologies.”
Other show floor activity included the ‘Best in Show’ awards, which saw CTS picking up the award for Best Stand, Implico collecting the award for Best Marketing Campaign, and Star Energy OilTanking winning the award for Best Entertainment.
Nick Powell concluded: “It is great to be part of such a vibrant show, and we are already deep in our planning to make 2017 even better. In fact, I can officially announce that Tank World Expo is rebranding, and will now be StocExpo Middle East Africa, meaning that it further aligns with our current portfolio of events across the world. These are exciting times, so stay tuned for more information.”
