TOKYO, 11 May 2016 -- (ASIA TODAY) -- HighQuest’s sixth annual Global AgInvesting Asia – the world’s premier agricultural investment seminar – will take place in Tokyo from 13-15 September 2016 at the Hilton Odaiba. This seminar is designed to help investors understand the breadth of the agricultural asset classes, key regions for investment, and ways to participate in the sector through investment allocation.
Greg Mellinger, CEO of HighQuest Group, the company organizing the seminar, explained that the event will cover investment opportunities in key markets such as the U.S., Europe, Australia and South America. “We relocated Global AgInvesting Asia to Tokyo from Singapore in response to interest by Japanese institutional investors in alternatives, including agricultural private equity, infrastructure and agtech,” said Mellinger. “We’re honored to bring Global AgInvesting Asia to Tokyo to help investors evaluate the agricultural asset classes, and to assist Japanese companies in meeting investment partners for business opportunities related to feeding the growing Asian population.”
More than 50 expert speakers will address topics through case studies, presentations and interactive workshops, including:
• Agriculture Investment Opportunities in U.S., Europe, South America and ASEAN countries
• Building Sustainable Supply Chains
• Harnessing Investment Opportunities to Increase Agricultural Productivity
One such speaker is Ben King, managing principal of Pacific Gold Agriculture. With a background in farming – his family has managed farms in California for over 150 years – he recently cofounded MCP Asset Management, which manages over $5 billion for Asian institutional investors, with offices in Chicago, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
"Pacific Gold Agriculture is excited to join Global AgInvesting for its first event in Tokyo, one of the world's most important financial centers. This seminar not only offers a great opportunity for Japanese institutions and other stakeholders to gain exceptional insight into the current issues surrounding global agricultural investing but also offers the opportunity for international participants to gain an understanding of the Japanese perspective on global citizenship, sustainability and food security,” said King. “Not only has Japan been a leading source of institutional capital for investments in impactful global investing but it also has been a global leader in highlighting the paramount importance of sustainability and food security."
