The European Innovation Week (May 30-June 3) in Taipei is the biggest annual event for trade and technology collaboration between Taiwan and the EU. It will feature seven seminars related to smart applications, which are expected to attract over a thousand participants from across the global.
Seminars on smart health, smart mobility, smart industry, 5G, nano-electronics, Horizon 2020, etc. will be attended by several global companies. Siemens, Bosch, and Tatung will share their experience and visions of a future smart industry. Nexcom, a fast-rising startup, will make a presentation entitled “The Key of Smart Industry, Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS)”.
Another highlight of the weeklong event will be the B2B, B2C and C2C (C for clusters) matchmaking event on June 1st. This event is organized by the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) Taiwan to bring Taiwanese and European companies, clusters and institutes together for business/research cooperation talks.
DG GROW delegation will also take part in the European Innovation Week. This is not the first time DG GROW groups a delegation to Taiwan. Last year the group joined the daylong affair hosted by TAITRA initiating business collaboration between Taiwan and EU.
The European Innovation Week is a joint initiative of the European Commission (comprising DG GROW, DG CONNECT and DG RTD) in collaboration with Silicon Europe Worldwide, GNSS.asia, the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), the Department of Industrial Technology (DOIT) of Taiwan, EEN Taiwan (coordinated by TAITRA), the European Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan (ECCT), the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), and the European Cluster Collaboration Platform.
