TAIPEI --(ASIA TODAY)-- The global spotlight “ PHILATAIPEI 2016 World Stamp Championship Exhibition” will be held at Hall 1 of the Taipei World Trade Center between October 21~26, 2016.

This is Taiwan’s first world stamp exhibition, and as part of our marketing campaign to promote this grand Taipei event, Chunghwa Post has joined forces with the Taiwan External Trade Development Council and Chinese Taipei Philatelic Federation to send a representative team to attend the World Stamp Show – NY 2016, led by Chunghwa Post Chairperson Ong Wen-Chyi (Philip). The team will take full advantage of the opportunity to observe operations at this mega international philatelic exhibition, bringing back the invaluable international experience, and at the same time promoting PHILATAIPEI 2016 and attracting business.

In recent years Chunghwa Post has systematically participated in international philately events. Beyond its desire to observe and understand international trends, the goal for Chunghwa Post is to promote Taiwan’s national postal image and cultural-creative services. It hopes to strengthen domestic philately sector and establish deeper roots, which willing turn attract more members of the younger generation. Additionally, through constant interchange on the global postal and philatelic community, it hopes to enhance Taiwan’s international reputation and visibility, and to achieve its marketing objectives.

PHILATAIPEI 2016 coincides with the 120th anniversary of Chunghwa Post. The exhibition theme is “Legacy and Innovation”. There will be a fusion of information on postal history traditions, modern-day transformations and future developments. An additional special “side-show” series of daily activities will showcase the enterprise’s cultural focus on providing a valued public service and protection of the environment. There will also be animated attractions to draw in younger visitors. This event has been designed as an international festival of culture and art.

PHILATAIPEI 2016 will have representatives from 77 member countries of the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP) in attendance, including national postal services, postal associations, stamp dealers, and stamp collectors. Expectations are for a domestic/international display of 2,300 frames of exhibits, with 140-plus display booths for the representative postal services and stamp dealers. This is not only a superb opportunity for philatelists to gain new knowledge, but also an invaluable channel for stamp-collecting aficionados. One special note is that this event will be the stage for the 4th World Stamp Championship Exhibition, the highest level of international philately competition, attracting the world’s greatest philatelists who desire awards and glory.

At the World Stamp Show – NY 2016, we will have five rare-stamp exhibits, showcasing 1.China: Coiling Dragon and Its Overprints 1897-1912, The Postal History of Imperial China 1897-1911, The Development of Yunnan Postal System 1901-1949, Netherlands East Indies Airmail From 1920 to 1942 and Better Oral Health for Better Life-Dentistry. Also, the President of the World Stamp Show – NY 2016, Wade Saadi, will formally hand over the exhibition flag to Chunghwa Post’s Chairperson Ong, symbolizing inheritance of the spirit of the exhibition. Chunghwa Post proudly announces to the world – Taiwan is ready and we can’t wait to see you!
