Yangon, 08 September 2016 --(ASIA TODAY)-- The change in government and ongoing reforms has led to increased interest from international investors looking for business opportunities in the country. The first phase of the Thilawa special economic zone launched in September 2015, with 70 per cent of the area already contracted to foreign and local companies. Most of the foreign companies are from Japan, but there are also companies from China and South Korea.
With more international companies moving in to put down roots in Myanmar, spurs the demand for new and high quality manufacturing technologies and solutions. At the same time, local industries need to invest in and upgrade their capabilities for higher productivity and efficiency. Manufacturing Myanmar 2016, the country’s truly international manufacturing trade exhibition, will meet these requirements with a strong presentation of global manufacturing capabilities and best practices needed for machinery innovation and business growth.
“Manufacturing Myanmar 2016 plays an important role in supporting the evolution of the country’s manufacturing industry. For local players seeking growth ventures with key industry players, and others looking to enhance operations and upgrade manufacturing capabilities through new technologies to satisfy domestic and international demands, this is a must-attend trade event for them,” says U Zaw Min Win, Chairman, Myanmar Industries Association.

We are committed to bring showcase of the best and most innovative manufacturing machinery, equipment, technologies and solutions the world has to offer, to support the local industry’s progression along the manufacturing value chain, and accelerate its leap into the next era of growth.”
“Mainly from overseas, our exhibitors have been monitoring the development in the local manufacturing sector and are very eager to meet with local companies, and share their knowledge and capabilities,” adds Mr. Hawkes.
