Manufacturing Solutions Expo 2016 showcases the future of manufacturing

Singapore, 15 September 2016 --(ASIA TODAY)-- The third edition of Manufacturing Solutions Expo (MSE), jointly organised by the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) and Sphere Exhibits, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH), will be held from 12 to 14 October 2016 at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.

MSE 2016 is supported by government agencies and trade associations, including SPRING Singapore, A*STAR, e2i, Enterprise Europe Network, IPI Singapore, Association of
Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME), GS1 Singapore, IPV6 Forum Singapore Chapter, Singapore Business Federation (SBF), Singapore Environment Council (SEC), Singapore
Industrial Automation Association (SIAA), Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF), Singapore Logistics (SLA), Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS),
Singapore Surface Engineering Association (SSEA) and Waste Management & Recycling Association of Singapore (WMRAS).

Targeted at manufacturing professionals, policy makers and business owners, this event aims to showcase the latest manufacturing methods, innovative solutions, and cost effective technologies and products to meet the growing needs of manufacturing companies to raise productivity while staying competitive in a complex business landscape. MSE 2016 expects to attract 4,000 trade visitors from Singapore and around the region to establish new business partnerships, network and engage potential distribution agents with over 100 regional and international brands and business solutions across the entire manufacturing value chain from more than 20 counties. It will showcase the manufacturing value chain categorised by Digital Factory, Industrial Automation, Sustainable Environment and Supply Chain.

MSE 2016 has garnered the support from Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) to co-locate its fifth edition of Manufacturing Productivity Technology Centre (MPTC) Annual Conference 2016 alongside with MSE 2016. The one-day MPTC Annual Conference 2016 is a platform for industry practitioners to view emerging models and technologies for innovation, exchange ideas and initiate collaborations and partnerships. Over 300 delegates are expected to attend the conference that focuses on productivity transformation through innovation and assist organisations to transform into innovative enterprises with improved productivity.

Agencies and technology providers in automation, design and manufacturing including metrology, will be showcased at MSE 2016.

The high value manufacturing solutions in the ASEAN region
With technological environment advancing rapidly, smart manufacturing is the solution to improve productivity, efficiency and profitability and reduction in downtime, waste and
defects.

ASEAN’s demographic advantages and expanding market opportunities will position the region as an attractive manufacturing centre for manufacturers and investors to
capitalize on its growth. As such, Singapore is preparing to capitalise on a more automated and connected future.

MSE 2016 will showcase a wide range of industries to leverage like the Aerospace, Automotive, Biotechnology, Electrical and Electronics, Energy, Food and Beverages,
Manufacturing, Medical Technologies, Healthcare, Oil and Gas, and Telecommunication.

Besides the support from government agencies and industry associations, MSE 2016 has increased more than 30% floor space in the Singapore Pavilion, covering 600 sqm
that comprises more than 50 Singapore companies, making it one of the largest Singapore Pavilions which MSE has organised so far. The well-received expo has the support from more than 70 companies that will be presenting over 100 international and regional exhibiting brands from 20 plus countries such as 3D Matters, ABB, CAM System, CEI, e2i, Fleximark, Hitronic, Hiwin, Indegy, Janatics Pneumatic, Keyence, LHT Holdings, Neuphonix Vision, OGP, QualityLine, Sandvik, Siemens ETA, Spectris, Stratasys, UCT Additive Manufacturing, Unitronic, Werma and many others.

There will also be a series of interactive learning seminars and product demonstrations presenting the best practices in the manufacturing sectors where visitors can expect to
see artefacts representing from both start-ups and other organisations. Visitors can walk through the alley of LIVE demonstrations on Additive Manufacturing and Robotics and
experience the new paradigm for industrial manufacturing in 3D printing as well as a series of industrial and service robots that companies have successfully implemented in
workplace to enhance productivity, profitability and time efficiency.

In addition, visitors who are seeking for business advice can visit or schedule appointments with the Business Advisory Clinic presented by SME Centre@SMF for free
consultations onsite. Visitors will get the latest information on incentive schemes and grants from various governmental agencies at a Government Pavilion too.

More than 20 industry leaders will be sharing on the latest industry trends, best practices and various manufacturing technological solutions at ManuTech Xchange across the
three-day programme tailored specially for MSE visitors.

The exhibition is a platform for networking, thought leadership, industry collaboration and sharing of ideas. Visitors will gain new perspectives that will enable them to adapt to the fast-changing industrial environment, as well as discover new technology trends and markets, given the rising demand for fully integrated capabilities.

Identifying business opportunities and increase company performance Co-located with MSE 2016 is a one-day seminar on The Future of Manufacturing Industry presented by Nomura Research Institute Pte Ltd (NRI) - Asia’s leading consultancy firm for Manufacturing Industry with 10,000 professionals in 38 offices in13 countries. The seminar will focus on the dynamic change in the manufacturing industry in the ASEAN landscape due to the emergence of new age technologies such as AI, Big Data and IoT.

Delegates will learn from industry experts to develop strategies based on experience, support on decision-making with understanding on their inherent issues to form and
execute effective measures in a harmonised manner.

Also co-located with MSE 2016 is an insightful seminar on Green Productivity and Green Factory Seminar, presented by Foundation of Taiwan Industry Service (FTIS) with
support from Asian Productivity Organization (APO) and Industrial Development Bureau of Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan Government. The purpose of the seminar is to share the experience of Green Factory Labeling System and green technologies from Taiwan.
