UAE’s leading recruitment fair set to be largest yet as record number of employers in search of top Emirati talent take part

Abu Dhabi, 19 December, 2012 - ASIA TODAY - Hot off the heels of the recent Absher programme announced last month to boost Emiratisation in the UAE, government and semi-government organisations are now turning to the country’s leading job fair to kick-start their recruitment drives for 2013, ‘the year of emiratisation.’

The Tawdheef Recruitment Show takes place from 29 to 31 January 2013 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, with the event’s organisers, Informa Exhibitions, saying that every year more and more government entities and their semi-private subsidiaries participate at the event to fill their employee ranks with top Emirati talent.

“The majority of employers exhibiting at the upcoming Tawdheef Recruitment Show represent government or semi-government companies,” said Hayete Jemai, exhibition director of Tawdheef.

“This edition in particular will be the largest yet in the show’s seven year history in terms of participating companies and occupied exhibition space, and we have seen a huge amount of interest in the last few weeks from organisations that have never exhibited at the event before.”

Jemai said that government organisations participating at Tawdheef that were not present in 2012 include Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, Abu Dhabi Quality & Conformity Council, Tabah Foundation, the Department of Transport, the Department of Municipal Affairs, and the Emirates Advanced Investment Group.

She added: “This is in addition to the returning government entities that participate in the show every year, as they look to get 2013 off to a flying start in their efforts to support emiratisation.”

Organisations returning to the show again include Titanium Sponsor, The Presidential Guard, Platinum Sponsors National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Police, and the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank; Gold Sponsors Etisalat, Du, ADNOC and Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority; Silver Sponsor Etihad Airways, and Registration Sponsor Abu Dhabi Airports Company.

Co-located with the Emiratisation Summit, the Tawdheef Recruitment Show is the UAE’s most well known event supporting emiratisation, returning after a highly successful showing earlier this year when 117 companies presented more than 2,000 positions for qualified UAE Nationals.

The event attracted 30,000 visitors, and vacancies for UAE Nationals varied from finance and administration roles to more scientific fields, including mechanical and nuclear engineering.

Tawdheef is open from 10am-7pm daily, with the morning of 30 January from 10am – 1pm reserved for Emirati ladies only. Entrance is restricted to UAE national job seekers from 10am – 4pm, while all other nationalities can attend from 4pm onwards. Pre-registration for expatriates is mandatory and more information is available online at www.tawdheef.ae.
