SINGAPORE, December 20, 2012 – ASIA TODAY - Delivering the industry’s highest¹ colour output speed of 152.4mm per second and 42-inch wide format capabilities, Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. today launches a new wide format inkjet printer, DocuWide C842. It meets the needs of the design, advertising, manufacturing, construction, geographic information system (GIS) and other sectors.
As businesses shift from monochrome to colour printing, high resolution wide format colour printers are needed to meet demands of improving design drawings and communication, handling timely outputs and different print job requirements. With its high productivity and quality of 1,600 by 1,600 dots per inch (dpi) output resolution, the DocuWide C842 produces exhibition banners, in-store and backlight displays or large posters, as well as illustrations, perspective drawings, technical document texts and photographs. Optimum image quality is met at identical speeds for different media types ranging from plain, matte coated, glossy or tracing papers to bond, vellum or film.
Productivity
To achieve high efficiency and a polished, professional finish, the DocuWide C842’s fixed line five print head system simultaneously produces four-colour inks (Cyan Magenta Yellow Black or CMYK) for one-pass printing and output resolution of 1,600 by 1,600 dpi at a print speed of seven A0-sized sheets per minute.
The device can handle wide printing up to 42 inches, long-paper printing up
to five metres, and large 36-inch posters with register marks for trimming.
In addition, a cut sheet of up to two metres in length can be loaded into the manual feed table.
Quality
The inkjet technology – refined down to 1.4 picolitre – handles a high dynamic range of shades or halftone images while the water-based dye ink produces smooth and natural colour gradation, sharply reproducing details, textures and fine lines without graininess.
Fine air bubbles in ink are one of the factors that hinder beautiful image reproduction. The DocuWide C842 is equipped with a newly developed ink circulating system, which eliminates air bubbles and impurities to ensure a consistent print quality.
Usability
The DocuWide C842’s ease of use improves operations and allows businesses to focus on other game-changing areas. The device can be functionally enhanced for network copying with the DocuScan C1500 or DocuWide 6055MF series colour scanners2.
A maximum of four rolls3 can be mounted – a 2-inch roll, 3-inch roll and a manual feeder, preparing the DocuWide C842 to meet various printing
requirements and minimising the trouble to change paper types every time.
The device supports large volume continuous printing of up to 999 A0-sized sheets for batch output and can serve multiple users in a workgroup at any time.
Ink cartridge replacement and paper reloads are simple, while the compact touch panel display assures comfortable operations, ranging from output settings, job check, power-saving release, contrast adjustment, consumables check and language switching.
Sustainability
The DocuWide C842 completes fast prints yet features smart eco-design. Paper selections for different output sizes and paper direction or rotation are automatically adjusted, thus reducing excessive margins and waste. Sample prints can be previewed before final printing in ink saving mode, cutting down ink consumption by 40 per cent. The device has a low-power usage of 690 watts or less, complying with environmental standards including International Energy Star Programme and RoHS standard.
1 As of December 2012.
2 Dedicated software is required to enable copy, scan and print network function.
3 Two models are available; two rolls + manual feeder and four rolls + manual feeder.
