DUBAI, UAE, January 21, 2013 -(ASIA TODAY)- First launched three years ago, Paperworld Middle East is designed to be the authoritative trade, business development and networking event in the region for paper products and office supplies. Paperworld Middle East is the regional extension of the international Paperworld brand which is globally renowned as the premier trade platform for these industries.
Given that Paperworld Middle East is set to stage its third edition, could you comment on whether it has been a success?
Paperworld Middle East is looking to build on its ongoing success over the last two editions. Our initial foray into the market was well received by both exhibitors and trade visitors. The second edition cemented our presence in the region with a 20% increase in exhibitor numbers over the inaugural edition. The third edition looks in good shape to continue the growth trend as the trade fair begins to strengthen its position as the premier trade event for the paper, stationery and office products industry. Given the favourable market response from across the region, growing support from our exhibition partners and a constantly growing footprint, Paperworld Middle East can be termed as a successful trade fair.
We are looking at Paperworld Middle East 2013 being larger and more representative than the previous two editions. The brand’s success in establishing itself as a truly effective trade platform has been underlined by the fact that 45% of this year’s exhibitors have not previously participated and so will be making their regional debut in March. Coming from Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, Italy, France, the UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Spain, Hong Kong, South Korea and India among others, these exhibitors include manufacturers of paper products, specialty paper, office suppliers, stationery manufacturers and writing instrument manufacturers. The show will also welcome back many of its previous exhibitors including loyal customers who have participated since the launch edition.
The growth of the Paperworld brand in the region is largely due to being able to generate wide support in the regional market from trade buyers and exhibitors. Additionally, the Middle East market is increasingly attractive to international manufacturers and suppliers due to its fast-growing nature. Globally, the Paperworld brand is widely respected by the paper products and office supplies industry and the events are known to generate strong market support, robust representation and wide trade visitor participation. Our continued success regionally depends upon not only growing in terms of numbers but also in how effective we are in reflecting the needs of the regional trade.
Paperworld Middle East’s product profile comprises a widely representative range. The main categories are: Office Supplies; School Articles; Gift Articles; Greeting Cards/Calendars; Wrapping Material; Office Paper and Films; Household Paper and Films.
Over the previous two editions, Paperworld Middle East has been successful in attracting a strong representation from the region’s key market influencers. Exhibitors to our show look to gain the attention of: wholesalers; distributors; hypermarkets and supermarkets; stationery shops; paper and office suppliers; gift shops; publishers and printers; bookshops; children’s shops, schools and universities etc. Last year’s edition welcomed key buyers from some of the world’s major stationery retailers such as Office Depot and Kinokuniya, for example. This year’s show also expects to attract the attention of medium and large corporations that are sourcing products and services directly.
As in last year’s edition, Paperworld Middle East 2013 is expected to reflect the continued demand in the market for sustainability and growing concern for the environment. In accordance with these market trends, paper manufacturers around the globe are increasingly turning to greener methods of production, sourcing raw material from managed forests and increasing the recycled component in their products. Paperworld Middle East will feature a range of sustainably produced products for regional buyers to choose from. Also expected to attract quite a lot of attention is the back-to-school category, which will feature a wide range of stationery, school bags and writing instruments from leading manufacturers and suppliers.
Paperworld Middle East 2013 will feature the Green Office Area, a dedicated section which will present everything from writing instruments to office machinery that are produced according to green standards. The exhibition will for the first time ever, present the Gift Wrapping Competition, which will feature regional experts showcasing their skill at attractively wrapping gifts. The winner will be awarded the “Paperworld Middle East 2013 Wrap Star“ title.
