Hong Kong, 22 January 2013: Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) believes in Building Homes with Heart and promotes the spirit of giving in the community. A total of 63 SHKP subsidiaries, residential developments, shopping malls and hotels have received Caring Company designations from the Hong Kong Council of Social Service as of January 2013 in recognition of SHKP's commitment to corporate social responsibility.
SHKP won the '10 Consecutive Years Caring Company' title last year and its property management subsidiary Kai Shing and Tai Po Mega Mall and Yuen Long Plaza have received the designation for ten years. These bring the number of SHKP companies winning the designation for ten years or over to 11, including Hong Yip and the Royal Park and Royal Plaza hotels. Sanfield and Ma Wan Park have had their titles for over five years.
The Caring Company Scheme encourages businesses to show social responsibility and work with the social welfare sector to build a caring society. SHKP excelled in the fields of 'Caring for the Community', 'Caring for Employee' and 'Caring for the Environment' by encouraging employees to volunteer, giving to charity, mentoring, caring for employees, promoting work-life balance and protecting the environment.
