With a little over one month to go before the record-breaking Tyrexpo Asia 2013 opens its doors, major tyre suppliers are confirming their product focus and sales strategies for the region’s leading independent tyre and equipment exhibition.

The show will bring together more tyre manufacturers, distributors, brokers and agents from around the world than any previous Tyrexpo Asia event further endorsing Singapore’s strategic importance as a major international hub and gateway to global business markets.

Among them is Singapore-based Omni United, with its fast-growing flagship brand Radar, which now has a presence in over 80 countries across five continents.

Four new Radar patterns will be on-show at the Singapore Expo Centre in March, including the Renegade A/T, a rugged, M&S rated, all-terrain tire for light truck and SUV applications, available in five different sizes. The Rivera GT10 is a passenger car/light truck all-season range available in 23 different sizes. The third new pattern is the Rivera Pro2 high performance summer range in 21 size options, while the RPX700 is a budget performance range for smaller passenger vehicles, available in a total of 6 different sizes.

Omni has also recently entered the motorsport arena by competing in the Lucas Oil Series. Commenting on the move, Omni founder G. S. Sareen says: “Motorsports has always been an incredible proving ground for tires, and Radar is ready to take on the tough competition of the Lucas Oil Series and the punishing desert in SCORE racing with our rugged, heavy-duty Renegade R5 M/T tire.”

Leading a powerful presence of Chinese tyre companies at the show is Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber (ZC-Rubber), which is the country’s largest and fastest growing tyre manufacturer. With over 50 years’ experience and over 20,000 employees the company is ranked No. 11 in the Top 75 global tyre manufacturers. ZC-Rubber is using its presence at Tyrexpo Asia to promote its brands as part of a stated ambition of joining the world’s top 10 tyre producers.

Crowntyre is another expanding Chinese tyre manufacturer, which in 2012 invested in setting up a subsidiary company in Singapore, Gremax Industrial, to increase its service levels to customers in the ASEAN region. Other subsidiaries have also been established in the USA, Europe and Middle East to support sales volumes that have increased by an average of over 30% for each of the past six years. Last year, more than 6,000,000 units of passenger and light truck tyres were sold by the company, which owns three independent brands including Gremax, Suntek and Tracmax.

Exhibiting at Tyrexpo Asia 2013 is designed to build on a customer base that currently includes distributors in 126 countries and regions in America, Europe, Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa.

Typical of the many newer and less familiar Chinese makers is Qingdao Au-Shine Tyre Co, which has only been involved in the sector since 2009, with brands including Haulking, Agromaster and Rainmaster. The company has already achieved $10 million in export sales and output of 3.2 million sets of bias tyres, including OTR, agricultural, industrial, truck and light truck tyres; products it will be promoting heavily in Singapore.

Middle Eastern suppliers will also be well represented. The Dubai-based Al Dobowi Group will be showcasing its latest new brand, Eternity, with a product range that includes truck and bus radials, truck bias, light truck, passenger car and OTR tyres.

Also from Dubai is Zafco’s Zeetex brand, established in 2005 and comprising extensive ranges of tyres, batteries and lubricants. Zeetex is an international brand, designed and developed to cater to the customer needs in every tyre category for all types of vehicles.

Show regular BKT from India is a leading player in off-highway tyres with a presence in 130 countries and a global market share of 5%. Having established itself in the replacement market, BKT is now focusing on major OEM customers in Asia. Its presence at Tyrexpo Asia will centre on its newly developed agricultural and OTR tyres in both bias and radials.

While there will be an unprecedented number, range and variety of tyre companies at the show, visitors will also have exceptional access to dozens of international suppliers of retreading materials, technology and equipment, wheels, workshop machinery, tools, accessories and consumables.

Tyrexpo Asia will be officially opened by Dr Stephen Evans, head of the International Rubber Study Group, the leading source of statistical data and analysis for all aspects of the global rubber industry.
