SINGAPORE, February 18, 2013 -(ASIA TODAY)- In recognition of their energy efficient performance, two models from Fuji Xerox’s range of digital colour multifunction devices (MFDs) have won the “Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency” award in the Buyers Laboratory (BLI) Winter 2013 Pick Awards. The Fuji Xerox ApeosPort-IV C3375 and DocuCentre-IV C2265 were accorded the honours after four months of testing by BLI, the leading international authority in the imaging industry and independent testing body of document imaging products.
During BLI's environmental evaluation test, the ApeosPort-IV C3375 and DocuCentre-IV C2265 projected annual energy consumption rates measured at 50 per cent and 57 per cent lower than competitive averages for other A3 colour MFDs in the same category. In addition to eco-friendly features, the units exceeded their rated yields during toner yields testing and did not experience misfeeds, dust buildup or curling paper problems from the recycled paper durability tests.
Evaluated by BLI’s editors and technicians, the Pick Awards are handed out twice yearly in June and December. Products recognised for “Outstanding Achievement” display outstanding qualities such as innovation, usefulness, energy efficiency or value, while functional assessments are based on ease of use, media handling, and productivity, among others.
Smart Energy Management Technology – one of the technologies built-in the awarded models, manages energy usage by using only what is necessary, when it is necessary. This enables the device to activate only the modules required by the user, saving energy and reducing CO2 emissions, and allowing offices to enjoy quieter environments.
“The devices offer a variety of features to help users reduce their overall environmental impact,” said BLI Test Technician Joe Tischner. “What sets the DocuCentre-IV C2265 apart from the myriad devices that also offer such features is significant energy savings. While the ApeosPort-IV C3375 is automatically set to enter sleep mode after one minute of inactivity by default, users do not have to worry about reconfiguring the settings as the unit provides the best possible energy settings at onset to help ease the overall user experience.”
Energy Efficient Features of the Winning Models
With annual energy consumption at less than half of what other devices in the same class use, the ApeosPort-IV C3375 and DocuCentre-IV C2265 have faster than average recovery time from sleep mode and can fax or scan without warming up the entire device, which helps ease user convenience with reduced waiting time and energy savings.
The units have low noise emission levels and can run on toner-save print mode to help cut down on toner use. Other paper-saving features include proof mode, recycled paper mode, N-up functionality and automatic duplexing that do not duplex single pages and the last page of odd-numbered originals.
Environmental-friendliness goes beyond a single energy-saving function,” said Moon Kyung Hoon, senior manager, Product Marketing, Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific. “At Fuji Xerox, our eco-conscious value system and founding principles based on productivity, cost efficiency, innovation and sustainability is implemented at all stages of product and service development. We are pleased to be recognized with global green accreditations and especially with the esteemed BLI award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency.”
The ApeosPort-IV C3375 and DocuCentre-IV C2265 also meet the requirement for the United States ENERGY STAR, the European Union Restriction of Hazardous Substances (EU RoHS) Directive, Japan Eco Mark, Korea Eco Label, Singapore Green Label, Taiwan Green Mark and China Environmental Labelling.
