Outdoor Design Build & Supply, presented by Dubai Municipality, to host more than 100 local and international players in outdoor environments

Dubai, UAE, 24 March 2013 -(ASIA TODAY)- The Middle East’s dedicated landscaping and exterior design trade show will open for the first time tomorrow in Dubai, bringing together more than 100 international and regional brands involved in the planning, design and construction of outdoor environments.

Presented by the Dubai Municipality, the inaugural edition of the Outdoor Design Build & Supply show will take place from 25-27 March at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, providing a comprehensive business platform for exhibitors to meet with thousands of key decision makers from regional government entities, developers and contractors.

The global appeal of the three-day event is underlined by the international exhibitor participation from countries including Australia, India, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Spain, UK, and the USA, as they look to tap into a reenergised UAE construction sector, which is expected to benefit from a US$38 billion surge of fresh investment in 2013.

With an estimated 10 per cent of that outlay feeding into the country’s outdoor landscaping and gardening sector, the industry is ripe for the picking, giving Outdoor Design Build & Supply the perfect backdrop to spotlight the latest outdoor environment technologies and innovations.

Thea Skelton, Project Director of Outdoor Design Build & Supply, said: “The Middle East outdoor design and landscaping sector continues to grow, and will only expand further as governments put more emphasis on creating and promoting greener outdoor spaces.”

“The launch of Outdoor Design Build & Supply will help city municipalities achieve a vision of beautiful and sustainable outdoor environments, whilst also providing the landscaping industry with a new fresh platform to network and do business in the wider Middle East region.”

The first edition of Outdoor Design Build & Supply includes a two-day seminar on 25 and 26 March, where leading industry players will deliver case study examples of best practice in green landscaping and infrastructure, delving into the unique challenges the Middle East faces in sustainable urban development.

One seminar session will put the spotlight on Dubai’s Motor City as a prime example of best practice in water saving initiatives, by using a unique soil additive called Zeoplant that reduced water irrigation consumption in the community’s landscaped areas by 76 per cent.

Other sessions will focus on local plants and growth conditions in landscaping in the UAE; golf course and sustainable irrigation; play equipment in outdoor environments; and sustainability in hotel landscaping. Geoffrey Sanderson, Principal Director, GCLA International and Kamran Seyed Azizi, President, Emirates Society of Landscape will be on hand to moderate some of the sessions.

While international exhibitor participation is strong in 2013, a full line-up of local exhibitors will also fulfil key roles on the exhibition floor, from start-up organisations to large conglomerates, including Ghantoot Landscaping, one of the largest companies in the UAE involved in converting barren desert into elegant open spaces.

At the other end of the spectrum, the InOut Company will be looking to capitalise on its status as the only specialised provider of high end bespoke shading solutions in the Middle East, as it prepares to launch the region’s first ever full size automatic retractable shading solution at Outdoor Design Build & Supply.

Other local exhibitors that will have a big presence over the next three days include Gulf Landscape and Irrigation Systems, WPC Corporation, and Barari Forest Management.

Organised by Streamline Marketing Group, Outdoor Design Build & Supply is the only event in the Middle East to address the use of outdoor space in construction projects, providing support to developers, landscape architects and designers working to create outdoor spaces.

Visitors to Outdoor Design Build & Supply will include government and urban planning officials, corporate project managers and horticulture experts who will give exhibitors the opportunity to strengthen existing relationships while putting them in front of a targeted market.

Outdoor Design Build & Supply is supported by the largest buyers of outdoor products and services. More information is available at www.theoutdoorshow.ae.
