Taipei, May 13 (CNA) The annual Computex Taipei, Asia's largest computer trade show, will highlight touch panel devices with screen sizes ranging from 3.5 inches to 80 inches, according to the organizers.
Touch applications are now indispensable to the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, and the touch products featured at the show will satisfy the diverse needs of consumers, said the Taipei Computer Association, one of the show's organizers.
The association said in a recent statement that the June 4-8 trade show will provide one-stop shopping services to visitors and buyers and offer specially tailored products showcasing different technologies.
Among the touch technologies that will be on display include projective capacitive, resistive analog, optical and surface acoustic wave touchscreens, the association said.
Those applications are compatible with different operating systems, including Microsoft Corp.'s latest Windows 8 and previous Windows 7 and XP as well as Google Inc.'s Android platform, it said.
Computex Taipei will take place at the Nangang Exhibition Hall, Taipei International Convention Center, and Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1 and Hall 3.
The five-day show has attracted 1,700 exhibitors and is expected to draw over 40,000 international buyers and generate US$25 billion in business, according to the association.
