(May 2013) IMPACT launches a special wedding promotion with full services and the perfect venue that can accommodate up to 3,500 people. More than 150 Indian couples have chosen Thailand to their host their nuptials, reflecting a growing market and opportunity with long ceremonies lasting 4-7 days and 4-10 million baht being spent.
Mr. Chawanich Sirisinghol, Food & Beverage Director of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. said that, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in 2012 more than 150 Indian couples held a wedding ceremony in Thailand with wedding organizers in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket seeing significant growth. Indian wedding ceremonies usually take 4-7 days with around 200-250 attendees and cost between 4-10 million baht each time.
“Indians put great importance on wedding ceremonies as they reflect social status. So people tend to overspend on their wedding celebrations, even occupying an entire hotel. It is less expensive to have a wedding in Thailand with its choice of venues, atmosphere, food and beverages as well as honeymoon destinations.
Indian weddings grow rapidly, each year there are more than a million Indian couples organizing their weddings worldwide. Many hotels focus on these people, as does IMPACT Muang Thong Thani that offers a full service of wedding package that includes the venue, planning, food and beverages, and space for up to 3,500 guests. Recently, IMPACT held many Indian wedding ceremonies in the Royal Jubilee Ballroom, with full services to thousands of attendees.
This year, IMPACT continues improving its services with chef training for Indian cuisine in line with the ISO 22000 standard for more than 50 dishes, from appetizers to main dishes, desserts and drinks such as Mango salad with curry sauce, Vol Au Vent mushroom, Pasta salad with mixed olives, Tomato soup with croutons, stuffed Eggplant, Tofu stuffed with spinach and brown sauce, Massaman curry with mock meat, Pannacotta, and Apple crumble tart,” said Mr. Chawanich.
Mrs. Kunyanat Chaithanawasith, Assistant Director of Sales said that, IMPACT has come up with a special promotion for Indian weddings in 2013, offering a wedding package in any of IMPACT’s banquet halls such as Phoenix, Sapphire, or Jupiter Rooms, Grand Diamond Ballroom, and Royal Jubilee Ballroom including spaces around the Banquet Hall with a buffet starting from 1,000 baht per person.
In addition, special offers include a free honeymoon dinner at YaiYa Resort Hua-Hin for two days one night for 150-399 attendees package. For 400-699 attendees package, receive a honeymoon package stay at a pool villa for two days one night and for 700 and more attendees, receive a three days two nights pool villa package, for bookings within 31 December 2013 only.
Weddings in Thailand account for more than 30 billion baht in revenue with a growth rate of 10-20% per year. Government support for Indian couples and tourists to come to Thailand will result in the fast growth of the Indian wedding market. IMPACT’s promotion has helped increase its wedding market share by 5-10%.
