Singapore, 18th November, 2013 - Vector Aerospace Corporation, a global independent provider of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services is pleased to announce the establishment of a new engine facility at Singapore's Seletar Aerospace Park specially built for the PW150A turboprop engine.

The new 8,000 sqm engine center housing a 5,200 sqm state-of-the-art facility represents Vector Aerospace's appointment as a Pratt and Whitney Designated Overhaul Facility (DOF) and will be equipped with full engine overhaul and test capability.

Vector Aerospace will be investing more than $50 million (Singapore) in the construction, tooling and equipping of this facility.

By locating in the Asia Pacific region, Vector Aerospace will provide the owners of PW150A engines and operators of Bombardier Q400 a cost effective, viable, easily accessible MRO alternative and significantly strengthens Vector Aerospace’s presence in the region.

Declan O'Shea, President & CEO states “In our overall business expansion plan, the South East Asian market is extremely important to us due to its geographic location, strong projected growth and our customer base. We recognize the immense importance of this market and are taking these steps to expand our presence here with close proximity to our customers. Our new facility will benefit PW150 engine owners and operators in terms of faster turn times, minimized shipping costs and superior customer service. To that end, we have already appointed Philip Ang, an experienced senior executive, to be General Manager of Vector Aerospace Asia."

The new Vector Aerospace Asia engine center will break ground and commence construction in November 2013 with a scheduled completion date in late 2014. When fully operational, the facility is expected to employ up to 140 employees in a variety of repair, test, engineering, commercial and support roles. In addition, the facility is ideally situated to expand its products, capacity and services in the longer term.

“We are delighted that Vector Aerospace has chosen to locate its new engine overhaul and test facility at the Seletar Aerospace Park. Vector Aerospace’s introduction of PW150 engine MRO capabilities here further enhances Singapore’s position as a leading engine MRO hub. With the rapid growth in air travel and the regional aircraft fleet in Asia, this new facility will enable Vector to capture the increased demand for MRO services here.” said Mr Lim Kok Kiang, Assistant Managing Director, Singapore Economic Development Board.

Vector recently received approval from Transport Canada to perform maintenance and overhaul for the Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) PW150A series of engines at its facility in Summerside, Prince Edward Island.
