Four international lifestyle trend directions to be experienced
Trends will be brought to life by exhibitors’ latest products
Once again Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition offers the industry the chance to discover next season’s international lifestyle trends, before they become the latest fashions in people’s homes. The NellyRodiTM Agency from France led a diverse committee, featuring world-renowned experts in their individual fields, to create four themes that help to explain the lifestyle trends for 2015. These trends are currently available online in the trend guide, and will be displayed in detail in the Intertextile International Lifestyle Trend Forum at this year’s fair which runs from 27 to 29 August at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
As in previous years, Nelly Rodi and Vincent Gregoire, trendsetters from the internationally renowned NellyRodiTM Agency, have overseen the work of the trend committee. The committee not only used their years of experience and diverse backgrounds to develop the trends, but also utilised the Agency’s international sociological consumer study, Style IDTM. Rodi and Gregoire are joined this year on the committee by six newcomers whose diverse backgrounds have helped add a well-rounded flavour to the trends. They are:
• Jean Somat & Chloe Avril, Style Director & Head of Collection, Carre Blanc, France
• Serge Bensimon, Director, Bensimon Design Gallery, France
• Dai Kun, Architect & Interior Designer, China
• Sam Baron, Designer, France
• Corinne Hellein, Textile Designer, France
The four international lifestyle trends for 2015 developed by the committee are:
• Promised Land: a tribute paid to the beauty and grandeur of nature by the new pioneers. A contemplative exploration around the hand’s work in an ode to fine crafts and splendid, natural materials.
• Holy Harmony: minimalist, contemporary, top-end romanticism. A fresh, poetic story based on a form of controlled nature for urban well-being enthusiasts.
• Tropical Escape: a new, precious, poetic curio-cabinet style encourages experimentation and the discovery of new horizons. Surrealistic connections abounding with exotic Latino influences.
• Aqua Dream: an aquatic-inspired universe oscillating between narrative tradition and contemporary, hypnotic optical plays for a subtle, sophisticated consumer.
Trends will be brought to life by exhibitors’ latest products
The Intertextile International Lifestyle Trend Forum at the fair will showcase the four themes, with more inspirational ideas on display than last year. Exhibitors are being asked to submit their latest fabrics and products that match these trends for display in the Trend Forum which will help buyers to visualise the trends applied to finished products. This is an excellent opportunity for exhibitors to drive more traffic to their booth by featuring their products in the Trend Forum.
Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and the China Home Textile Association (CHTA).
