The coverage ranges from wearable devices, intelligent medical devices, smart home to auto network, which not only reveals the advent of IoE innovative services but further triggers business opportunities brought forth by a new wave of the information revolution.
According to the Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC), global IoE output will reach $ 600 billion in 2016, while the annual compound growth rate will be about 16%. Of which, the terminal hardware output value is estimated at $ 70 billion, with the annual compound growth rate of 9.8%; software value-added services output value is expected to exceed $ 500 billion, while the annual compound growth rate will reach 16.8%, accounting for nearly 9 percent of GDP.
U.S. market research firm Forrester also predicts that by 2020, the amount of global IoE services, compared with the amount of interpersonal communication service, will reach 30: 1. Taiwan has never been absent in the trend of IoE. Of which, multimedia telecommunications, government, and logistics industry expect the rapidest growth, which is estimated to account for 5 percent of the overall market size.
