On December 17th, the world final of former Miss Asia Pacific Super Talent, new format and name as “Miss Supertalent of the World” 2014 –Season 5 ( http://supertalentoftheworld.com ‘STOW’ hereinafter), a global supertalent contest in which 32 beauty finalists from among 164 countries will participate, will be held together with Star Night annually hosted by the Korea Film Actor's Association.
The Star Night is a showbiz hosted by the Korea Film Actor's Association to award the star of the stars, selected from among the winners of film festivals in and out of Korea, including the Blue Dragon Film Awards, Daejong Film Awards. Busan International Film Festival. In combination with that, another awarding ceremony will be held as a pre-event before the contest of STOW, in which the Asia-Pacific Media Network, the world’s largest in its kind, will pick the winners, converging the whole events into a global showbiz platform, drawing the world’s attention.
Red Carpet, the coronation night in which over 200 Korean Wave celebrities, world-leading super talents representing their home countries, and around 100 foreign press at home and abroad will join, will serve as a window of opportunities to create multi-dimensional contents in a global broadcast environment, standing apart from the Seoul Drama Awards and Busan International Film Festival as a step forward for the Korean Wave 3.0 generation.
Tony Kwon, CEO of MODALAB THE STAR CONTENTS and the lead director supervising this year's competition, said that together with the Korean Wave celebrities, STOW has already become a global gateway to an international contest for actors, vocalists, and top models from around the world.
For this year’s contest with a primary focus on the production and export of global contents, content producers representative of Asia, such as MTV8, and ATV will visit Korea en masse.
Every Q-SHEET of the final competition, which will be live broadcast for about 700 million prospective audiences around the world, will be produced in English, and subtitles will be provided in Korean, Chinese, and other languages. English subtitles will be available as well for the Red Carpet interviews by prior Q-SHEET.
The Korean Film Actor's Association and STOW are formulating global strategies for the spread, evolution, continuance, and further growth of Korean Wave all over the world.
One of the key strategies for the global acceleration of the Korean Wave phenomenon, includes support for the first ‘STOW( http://stowworld.com)’ winners becoming celebrities in and out of Korea and to star in films made in China and abroad, starting this year. The 29th and 30th president of the Korean Film Actor's Association was Mr. Shin Seongil, followed by the 31st president An Seongi, and the 32nd president Lee Dukhwa. The current 33st president is Dragon Lee, who made his debut as a leading actor starring the film ‘The Last Fist of Fury’. The vice presidents are Jeong Junho and Shin Hyunjun, and the honorary presidents are Nam Kungwon and Shin Younggyun. The council members are filled by Kim Youngchul and Dok Goyoungjae.
