Three key design industry events take place this December in Songshan Culture and Creative Park: Golden Pin Design Award 2014 Exhibition; TEDxTaipei Salon: Design Transformed; and the Golden Pin Design Award 2014 Award Ceremony
Taipei, Monday, December 1, 2014 - ASIATODAY.COM - Head to Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei, Taiwan’s capital city, this December to experience the innovation and expertise of the huaren (Chinese-speaking) design world first hand. TEDxTaipei Salon: Design Transformed, an event that brings design industry leaders from around the world together for the very first time in Taipei, is held on December 11. On the same day, the Golden Pin Design Award 2014 Exhibition–a free multimedia exhibition of all 416 Golden Pin Design Award 2014 Design Mark winners–opens. The Golden Pin Design Award 2014 Award Ceremony, a red carpet event in which this year’s Best Design winners will be announced, is held in the evening of December 11.
Golden Pin Design Award 2014 Exhibition
Visitors to the Golden Pin Design Award 2014 Exhibition will have the opportunity to come face-to-face with this year’s 416 Design Mark winning products and projects. The exhibition, which features the most innovative huaren (Chinese-speaking) market products and projects from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, and Malaysia, has been designed as a multimedia experience. Videos and projections of large industrial design products and interior design projects sit alongside winning products. Design works are accompanied by information on the history and future direction of the Golden Pin Design Award. The Golden Pin Design Award 2014 Exhibition opens on December 11, 2014 and closes on March 1, 2015 at Taiwan Design Museum in Taipei’s Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. Members of the public can visit the exhibition for FREE until December 31. The Taiwan Design Museum opens Tuesday to Sunday, 9.30am-5.30pm.
TEDxTaipei Salon: Design Transformed
Taiwan’s leading knowledge sharing platform, TEDxTaipei, and the Golden Pin Design Award, Taiwan’s premier international design award, will host TEDxTaipei Salon: Design Transformed at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei on December 11, 2014 from 10am-4pm. Attendees of the event will have the rare opportunity to hear the stories behind the success of eight locally and globally renowned design industry and business leaders including Eric Pan, CEO of Seeed Studio, a Forbes China’s “30 Under 30” entrepreneur, and a driver of “maker culture” in China; Jung-Ya Hsieh, Founder of GIXIA Group, which includes the newly founded, highly innovative THAT Inventions Co.; and Japan and San Francisco-based George Arriola, Founder and COO of Monohm Inc., and a former UX designer for Sony and Apple. Taiwanese contemporary dance group, Formosa Circus Art (FOCA), will open the event. Golden Pin Design Award 2014 Award Ceremony
The Golden Pin Design Award 2014 Best Design winners will be announced in a stunning red carpet event, the Golden Pin Design Award 2014 Award Ceremony, on the evening of December 11 at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei. The Golden Pin Design Award is the only design award in the world that celebrates innovative products and projects created for and in the huaren (Chinese-speaking) market. This year’s winners reflect the prowess of designers working in this unique and rapidly developing area of design, and on December 11 they will be awarded for their success in one of the most highly anticipated design events in the Chinese-speaking world. The ceremony, which is curated by pioneering Taiwanese motion graphics studio, JL Design, is attended by members of Best Design winning companies and studios, and huaren and international design world luminaries. Celebrated Taiwanese dancer and choreographer Huang Yi will perform Huang Yi & KUKA- 1st & 2nd Movements at the event.
