The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) joins with IMPACT and MEX Exhibitions, investing more than 20 million baht to host ASEAN’s largest exhibition on LED Lighting Products & Technology in Thailand. “LED Expo Thailand 2015” will exhibit the latest technology in LED products from over 300 leading companies from around the world, host academic seminars with world-class gurus, as well as launch the first Mobile Application for those in the LED industry.
Bangkok - ASIATODAY.COM - Today at EGAT’s head office, Mr. Soonchai Kumnoonsate, Governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) commented, “Throughout 2014, EGAT has campaigned for more of energy saving in every sector by acknowledging the potential of LED products as an energy-saving innovation that can help save energy throughout the world today and in the future. As a result, we have begun a campaign to continuously support the use of LED lights by labelling LED lighting products with Label No.5. Under this campaign we have also started a pilot program to use LED street lighting as well as replacements on EGAT’s properties and dam area. We’re also cooperating with manufacturing companies, importers and distrubuting outlets to sell LED bulbs in the EGAT LED box. Also, we are planning to support LED High Bay / Low Bay in businesses and industrial buildings and the replacement of flourescent lamps with LED Tube T8 in goverment buildings.”
“As a result, to ensure a sustainable market for LED products in the country, EGAT has joined together with IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. and MEX Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd. from India to push forward to host the 3rd edition of LED Expo Thailand 2015 from May 21st to 24th, 2015 at Halls 2-4, IMPACT Exhibition & Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand. In 2015, the usual 3-day exhibition will be extended by one more day, providing 4 days of endless business opportunities. The first three days will be Trade Day for business negotiations and the last day will be opened for the general public to visit during the Public Day in order to purchase products at special prices.
In addition, the event will hold the Modern Lamp Design Contest for the best LED ceiling light design in order to encouage and improve the skills and capabilities of Bachelor Degree students and junior students alike. The winner will receive prize money of more than 300,000 baht and a trophy from the Minister of Energy. Applications will be open till January 30th, 2015.”
