Muscat, Oman, 18 November 2012 – Pioneer and leading exhibitions and conferences organiser Omanexpo has received the full support of government-backed Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) for the 7th edition of its Food & Hotel exhibition. Food & Hotel Oman, the only food & and hospitality show in Oman and internationally certified by UFI-The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry , will take place from December 3 to 5, 2012 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.
Omani companies under PEIE will showcase an array of cutting-edge food and hotel products and services, which would serve the development of the Sultanate’s major and small industries in this sector.
This year, Food & Hotel Oman provides more emphasis on local products in its higher aims to raise better awareness of Oman-origin products and elevate them from a national to a global level by increasing their exposure to local markets.
Omanexpo General Manager for Operations Nader Abbas said “In support of the government’s efforts to develop new markets for local products and to arouse awareness from manufacturers, traders, buyers and exporters about Oman’s high-quality products, Food & Hotel has widened the range of its existing segments in order to tap previously untapped markets. The show will be a trade venue not only for local and international companies to conduct trade and build business networks, but also to source locally manufactured products.”
"Local companies contribute vastly to the advancement of the Sultanate's economy. Origin Oman campaign has been initiated to provide consumers with a brand identity for all locally
owned businesses. The campaign has had a high public profile since its inception and this has created significant expectations with various stakeholder groups," said Hamood Al Balushi, Director of Omani Products Department at PEIE.
"The participation of locally owned business in vital platforms, like Food & Hotel Oman, plays a key role in advancing local products and services further and gain a sustained growth, with an emphasis to create awareness among the public on the excellent quality of local made products and services. This would not only build extensive recognition of Origin Oman, but also marks the contribution of local business to the growth of Oman's economy," Al Balushi added.
Food & Hotel Oman, recognized as “a must for the sector,” will showcase the finest and the most-advanced products, services, equipment and technology for hospitality operations. This year’s event will once again feature the highly anticipated world-class Oman Top Chefs’ Challenge, participated in by well-renowned and respected chefs in Oman. It will also feature for the first time a barista competition and educational features.
