France zone and All About Sustainability make first-time appearances
Concurrent Yarn Expo Spring features exhibitors from 15 countries and regions

Anticipation is building around the 2015 Spring Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics as the fair is on track to set a new exhibitor record, coinciding with its relocation to a brand-new venue. More than 2,500 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions (2014: 1,469) have already confirmed their participation, setting a new high point in the fair’s history. Over 100,000 sqm will be in use at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from 18 – 20 March. All international fabrics exhibitors will be housed in the International Zone (hall 7.2), while domestic suppliers can be found in three halls: 7.1, 8.1 and 8.2. Accessories exhibitors, both overseas and Chinese, will be situated in the East Hall.

France zone and All About Sustainability make first-time appearances

Following in the successful footsteps of their European counterparts, French suppliers are increasing their presence at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, with a dedicated France zone making its first appearance at the Spring Edition after a strong showing last October. Some of the leading names in the industry will participate at the fair, including new exhibitors Malfroy Million and Solstiss Sarl. Malfroy Million, well-known for their silk scarves, began operations in 1939 and will exhibit premium silk at the fair. Solstiss Sarl will showcase its French lace produced on 100-plus-year old Leavers machines. Also featuring within SalonEurope is the Milano Unica Pavilion from Italy, and the Germany zone and Premium Wool zone.

Addressing the increased interest on sustainability in the industry, especially recently in China, the All About Sustainability zone also appears for the first time at the Spring Edition. Two exhibitors from Switzerland in this zone include Bluesign Technologies AG and Hausammann & Moos AG. The former will present its bluesign® certification system, while the latter will exhibit its range of cotton, cotton / silk, cotton / wool, linen and stretch fabrics, among others products, which come with certifications such as GOTS and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

Concurrent Yarn Expo Spring features exhibitors from 15 countries and regions

Buyers attending Intertextile Shanghai can benefit from three trade fairs taking place concurrently at the same venue, including Messe Frankfurt’s Yarn Expo Spring. This fair, held in hall 7.2 and occupying an area of 10,000 sqm, features around 250 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions including Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Pakistan, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and Uzbekistan.

Highlights include the Chinese Fibre Pavilion which also features a Bio Fibre Zone to promote the usage of biochemical fibres. More renewable fibres can also be found in the Renewable and Recycled Zone. Some of the international highlights include the Indian Pavilion and the Pakistani zone. As a whole, Yarn Expo showcases a wide spectrum of natural and blended yarns including cotton, wool, flax / regenerated flax, and man-made fibres and yarns as well as specialty products including elastic, and fancy and blended yarns.

In addition to this event, two other concurrent textile fairs also take place at the same venue: PH Value (previously known as the China International Knitting Trade Fair) and CHIC, the 23rd China International Fashion Fair will also run from 18 – 20 March.

Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition 2015 is co-organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and the China Textile Information Centre.
