CMT’s Industry-Acclaimed Biomass Pellets Trade & Power Summit to Unveil North Asia’s Growing Biomass Demand this Sept.

The biggest biomass buyers and suppliers meet – Biomass Pellets Trade & Power marks its sixth year on 14-17 September, 2015 in Seoul with fresh analysis of key North Asian biomass markets, particularly China, Japan and South Korea as well as pellet supply trade from South-East Asian & North American countries, Russia and Australia.

Having drawn over 300 participants last year alone, the 2015 edition will unravel new opportunities in the key biomass markets of China, Japan and South Korea as well as the evolvement in FIT & RPS in these countries. GS Global and the Korean Gencos including Korea South East Power (KOSEP), Korea Southern Power (KOSPO), Korea Western Power (KOWEPO), Korea East-West Power (EWP) and Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) have been roped in to lead discussions on South Korea’s biomass demand and imports.

To give attendees a broad local experience, a site visit to Korea Southern Power’s (KOSPO) newest facility – Sam Cheok Green Power Plant is set on 17 September.

With a macro perspective on ‘Rationalising Asia’s Biomass Demand with Sustainable Global Supply,’ new sessions in the 2015 agenda include issues of quality, sustainability and security of biomass pellets supply and also pellets production and the supply situation in South-East Asia, particularly in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Attendees can look forward to meeting and hearing from leading biomass industry companies including – Hawkins Wright, Beijing Windbell Technology, Mitsubishi UFJ Research & Consulting, Indufor Asia Pacific, ECN (Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands), RWE Supply & Trading, and counting. Apart from speaking at the conference, ECN will also be conducting a pre-conference workshop on 14 September.

Further details on the global wood pellets market, development & export of palm derived biomass products such as PKS, EFB as well as recent trends in use of biomass for industrial and captive power plants will be covered at this industry meet.
