(Shenyang, 23 September, 2015) Diane CHEN (陈倩) has been appointed Shenyang New World EXPO’s Deputy General Manager effective 1 September having joined EXPO in June of 2012 as Director of Business Development.
Shenyang New World EXPO Management Ltd (SML) Chairman Cliff Wallace made the announcement during an EXPO staff leadership retreat in Xian saying that, “Diane CHEN has demonstrated her commitment to China’s exhibition and meeting venue industry and to making EXPO Shenyang the landmark exhibition and meeting venue. Her enthusiastic leadership of pre-opening staff progress and response to and grasp of the industry as well as her superior people and communication skills have been admirable.”
EXPO is a part of a massive multi-use complex located in Shenyang on the Hunhe River adjacent to the city’s Golden Corridor which runs through the Liaoning provincial capital’s CBD. Opening in the spring of 2017 with 24,000 square meters (sqm) of gross exhibition space, 4,000 sqm of multi-functional convention, meeting and banquet space, EXPO will be Northeast China’s newest and most innovative venue.
Ms CHEN holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a Master Degree in Business Strategy Management. She has received a certificate in International Business and Operations Management. She is a member of the International Association of Venue Managers.
Ms CHEN, in responding to her promotion, said “I am excited about being a part of the initial staff of EXPO. I am confident that my experience and training will help me lead EXPO and its staff in becoming an example for China’s exhibition and meeting industry, especially a model for second tier cities making an effort to be a part of China’s exhibition industry reforms.
SML is a sister company to Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Ltd. SML is under contract with New World China Land (Shenyang) Ltd, the multi-use project owner including 2 hotels, a massive K11 Art Mall, 3 service apartment towers, and 2 office towers.
