To assist Taiwan’s ESCO (ESCO, Energy Service Company) in catching up with international environmental protection trends and acquiring business opportunities, the Service Industry Promotion Center of Taiwan External Development Council (TAITRA) will organize exhibition groups to participate in the China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair in April, 2016; China (Beijing) International Fair for Trade in Services in May; and 2016 China International Education Equipment & IT Solutions Exhibition in November, via overseas exhibition platforms with companies in: hardware and software system output, energy equipment provision, project management, and technical consulting, etc.
The first two exhibitions focus on strategic emerging industries, such as environmental services, high energy saving, and advanced environmental industries, etc., while the last exhibition stresses education related industries, including areas of campus energy saving through the promotion of horizontal alliances. A themed pavilion will also be set up to assist Taiwan companies in acquiring overseas green business opportunities.
When it comes to green issues, the Paris Climate Summit is the most-mentioned. COP21, also known as the 2015 Paris Climate Conference under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), under the spotlight of the world, concluded in Paris on 14 December, 2015, and achieved a historic global climate agreement. It will be the main guidance for international execution on the greenhouse gas reduction and climate adjustment after 2020, reaching a consensus for the global temperature rising no more than 2 degrees Celsius. The framework of the Paris Climate Summit will expedite the negotiation of the WTO Environmental Goods Agreement.
Furthermore, countries are expecting the goal to lower tariffs on 54 environmental items. The global demands for clean and low-carbon goods and services will reach a peak. Green energy, energy efficiency, smart grids, smart cities, Internet of Things, intelligent transportation, and the circular economy will be the industries with the highest potential in the next 10 years. Taiwan is closely tied to the international economics, and is naturally influenced by the green wave. Thus, the energy technical services are full of growth potential.
According to the definition from our Department of Commerce, Ministry of Economic Affairs, energy technical services is the industry which engages in new, clean energy, energy saving, enhancing energy efficiency or reduction, transferring peak time electricity load equipment, system and engineering planning, feasibility research, designing, installment, maintenance, gauging, authorized handling, related software and hardware construction, and its interrelated technical services. From the standpoint of customer services, utilizing energy saving techniques and concepts, pursuing rationalized energy usage for customers, enhancing energy efficiency, and saving the cost of energy, are all what energy technical services stands for.
Besides providing the aforementioned industries’ overseas exhibition platforms, TAITRA also offers the following services for ESCO related needs.
