ASIA TODAY - Centre for Management Technology’s 3rd New Myanmar Investment Summit 2013 unravels the complexities of the new foreign investment law, profit repatriation mechanisms, land leasing as well as technical staff availability and other vital concerns.

Leading authorities such as Deputy Director General of DICA, Daw Cho Cho Win, will lead in the first morning session to decode the new foreign Investment law and its application for businesses in Oil, Gas & Power sector.

Legal expert Ms. Cheah Swee Gim, Director & Foreign Consulting Attorney of Kelvin Chia Partnership will also share her extensive experience and insights on key significant clauses and how it will be interpreted in practice along with Panelist Daw Mae Thi Lynn, Director of the important Union Attorney General’s Office. Other senior panelists include Mr. Yoshiyuki Morii, Chief Representative of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.

Ms. Aye Sandar Lwin and Ms. Phyu Hnin Wutyi, Assistant Director of DICA will be available at the DICA Clinic at the end of day 1. This session serves as a platform for keen investors to clarify specific individual concerns and project procedures for their business plans.

Mr. Edwin Vanderbruggen, a partner at the legal and tax advisory firm, VDB Loi Myanmar, will give grounding on why BOT projects are favored by the government whilst spelling out the legal, tax and regulatory aspects. Mr. Chris de Lavigne, Global VP of Industrial Practices at Frost & Sullivan presents expert outlook on the emerging chemical market as well as plastics imports.

The vibrant Ms. Yup Seng Ing, MD of Digicom, shares about her country’s key provinces and its socio economic realities. On managing the site selection of manufacturing operation is Mr. Dennis Meseroll, Executive Director of Tractus Asia Ltd.

A separately bookable workshop conducted by Ms. Suzana Abspoel-Djodjo, Business Advisor of Dutch-based consultancy firm, Advance Consulting, shows how to secure grants and equity from the extensive Euro 1.5 million funds for small to medium investments projects, as well as for training, transfer of know-how and development of supply chains.
