Philips presents al fresco food, drink and music festival with 30 restaurants; Food Network’s Celebrity Chefs Reza Mohammed, Jenny Morris confirmed

Dubai, UAE, 9 January 2013 -(ASIA TODAY)- Consumer appetite for Taste of Dubai is taking the event to new heights this year when the al fresco food, drink and music festival returns with a record 30 of the city’s best restaurants, a host of celebrity chefs and the region’s best bands performing live on stage.

Presented by Philips, Taste of Dubai is the best and largest gathering of food and drinks talent in the city, running from 14 to 16 March at the Amphitheatre in Dubai Media City. As a must-attend event for UAE residents and a firm favourite on family calendars, this year the festival is expected to receive more than 25,000 visitors. Tickets go on sale on 24 January with early bird offers available for early bookers.

New restaurants signed up to take part this year include Armani Ristorante and Armani Amal, Thiptara and Asado, while firm favourites Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Rivington Grill, Rhodes Mezzanine and Gaucho are among those that will be back to show off the very best of gastronomy and indulgence.

“Our visitors love to enjoy good food and they are always ready to try something new in a city like Dubai which boasts one of the world’s best collections of restaurants,” said Chris Fountain, Managing Director of Turret Media, the organisers of Taste of Dubai.

“This year, we’re bringing them dishes they may never have tried before, chef displays which will wow them and one of the best family weekends available in the city.

“And in the run up to the festival, we’ll be getting very active on social media and will be giving our fans and followers on Facebook and Twitter exclusive content such as chats with some of the chefs, new recipes and competitions to win free tickets.”

As well as sampling food from the greatest restaurants in one venue, visitors can shop at some of the best retail outlets too. French department store Galleries Lafayette, creative kitchenware Lakeland and Nestle will be on hand selling exclusive products, while Coffee Planet, PinkBerry, Tasti D Lite and Bloomsbury will offer shoppers a hit of caffeine or something sweet to keep them going.

Highlights from the three-day event include the Chef’s Theatre, where celebrity chefs such as Gary Rhodes, Richard Sandoval, Vineet Bhatia and the Food Network’s Reza Mohammed and Jenny Morris get busy in the show kitchen and answer questions from the audience. The popular cookery school also returns with an interactive area for guests to prep, cook and sample recipes as well as a VIP lounge and a Kid’s Zone full of activities to give budding young chefs a chance to pick up tips from the experts.

The entertainment and music stage is sure to be a popular hot spot at the event, as a line-up of world class bands and DJs perform jazz-style tracks. Guests can carry on into the evening enjoying their favourite foods and beverages to chilled out music and truly soak up that festival fever in Dubai.

Fountain added, “Now in its 6th year, Taste of Dubai has made its mark here. This is the event for food, beverage and lifestyle businesses to reach affluent, discerning UAE residents who appreciate the finer things in life. The atmosphere at the Amphitheatre is relaxed as guests of all nationalities appreciate the flavours of the city under the sun with friends.”

With only a small amount of exhibition space still available, food, beverage and kitchen businesses which want to reach thousands of food lovers are advised to move quickly to secure a stand. More information is available at www.tasteofdubaifestival.com.
