Asiamold 2013 receives enthusiastic industry response with over 80% of booths booked
Exports of China-made moulds rise as the use of advanced machinery provides greater efficiency

The international mould & die community has shown impressive interest towards the 2013 edition of Asiamold, the Guangzhou International Mould & Die Exhibition. Over 80% of exhibition space has been booked for the show, scheduled to take place from 24 – 26 September 2013. Held once again at Poly World Trade Centre Expo in Guangzhou, the fair aims to showcase the most comprehensive collection of supply chain and mould-making solutions and technologies for manufacturing-based industries.

Over 400 exhibitors are expected to utilise more than 20,000 sqm of exhibition space. Additionally, due to the rise of mould and die makers within China, the 2013 show expects a 15% increase in attendance from overseas professional buyers. Overall, more than 22,000 visitors are anticipated during the three-day show.

Confirmed exhibitors will represent a total of 15 countries and regions, including Austria, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Portugal, Singapore, Taiwan and the US. The objectives of exhibitors are as equally diverse as the range of countries and regions they come from. For returning domestic firms Zhejian Kaihua and Gree Daikin, Asiamold offers the chance to highlight the growth of their brands in the international market, while firms such as Seal Mould, Good Year and PE look to Asiamold to increase their international client base. Another important objective for exhibitors is showcasing emerging technologies in the industry. Additive manufacturing, a widely popular and multi-billion dollar application will be the focus of exhibitors including Tianjin Vision Sensitive Technology, Magicfirm and Hangzhou Shining 3D Tech.

In addition to world-class suppliers, one of the show’s biggest assets is the list of prominent buying delegations it continues to attract each year. For the 2013 edition, close to 100 groups consisting of approximately 1,500 engineers, technicians and decision-making buyers have registered to attend the show. Companies that will be represented by delegation participants include BYD, CAPSA, Foxconn, Gree, Midea, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Nokia and TCL.

Show gains renewed and debut support from prominent industry associations

The support Asiamold receives from industry associations continues to be one of the key factors to the show’s success. Each year, domestic and overseas associations provide integral guidance and invaluable assistance towards the fair’s exhibitor and visitor recruitment, fringe programme development as well as national and regional pavilion organisation. Currently, pavilions from India, Korea, Japan and Malaysia are expected at the 2013 show.

Asiamold will welcome several new associations to its list of supporters this year, including the Korea Diecast Industry Cooperative, Korea Federation of Fasteners Industry Cooperative and the Organization of Plastics Processors of India. They join the groups, INTERMOLD Development Association, Japan Die & Mold Industry Association, Hong Kong Federation of Innovative Technologies and Manufacturing Industries as well as the Malaysia Mould & Die Association in highlighting developments from their respective members and promoting Asiamold in each supporter’s country/region. Furthermore, these associations will jointly present the latest technology developments and breakthroughs from their respective members by co-organizing the “Asia Precision Manufacturing and Engineering Forum – Moldmaking/Metal Manufacturing & Components Specials”.

Exports of China-made moulds rise as the use of advanced machinery provides greater efficiency

In 2012, China’s mould industry reached some impressive figures due to increasing demand both at home and abroad. As a whole, the industry achieved USD 20.69 billion in sales for the year, with USD 3.23 billion of that from export. Buyers from 188 countries and regions imported China-made moulds in 2012. These numbers were made possible because of the domestic industry’s continued adoption of advanced machinery in mould production.

Demand for advanced machinery remains high in China, especially among manufacturers based across the Pearl River Delta region. For makers of machine tools, consumer electronics and moulded products, advanced machinery provided USD 2.68 trillion in industrial output value during the first 11 months of 2012, with total sales volume equalling USD 2.62 trillion. With such a slim margin between total output and sales volume, it’s easy to see that advanced machinery will continue to be in high demand among China’s manufacturers. Asiamold maintains efforts in being the central platform for manufacturers to discover advanced machinery. As demand grows, suppliers of quality solutions can expect greater opportunities.

Asiamold is organised by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt in cooperation with EuroMold, the Hong Kong Federation of Innovative Technologies and Manufacturing Industries Limited and Guangzhou Die & Mould Industry Association. The show is also a part of an alliance with member shows in Africa (AfriMold), Asia (DieMould India, INTERMOLD Japan, INTERMOLD Korea), Europe (Euromold, RosMould) and the Americas (AmeriMold, BrasilMold).
