BANGKOK, Sept 24, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - Thirty nine GOLD and EXCELLENCE winners across ten categories were awarded during the Asian Hospital Management Awards, Friday September 13. The Gala Dinner closed the 12th Hospital Management Asia (HMA) held at the Shangri-La Hotel, attended by a record breaking 880 delegates from 34 countries and 398 organizations.
The awards program, now in its twelfth year, recognizes and honors hospitals in Asia that carry out best practices. It is the accepted hospital management awards program for the Asia Pacific region.
Awards are given to hospitals in the region that, in the opinion of the judges and advisers, have implemented or enhanced outstanding and innovative projects, programs, and best practices during the previous year. AHMA 2013 garnered 298 entries representing 78 hospitals across 13 countries.

Dr. Chalerm has been active in the Private Hospital Association first as its General Secretary and now as its President for a second term. He, with the other members, restructured TPHA to fit with the new health care environment, opening windows for rural and smaller hospitals. Membership increased from 60 to over 206 hospitals.
