Outdoor suppliers rush to new show following Mohammed Bin Rashid gardens announcement
Dubai, UAE, 25 February 2013 -(ASIA TODAY)- Companies involved with the design, build and supply of outdoor space are scrambling to capitalise on Dubai’s upcoming outdoor landscaping boom, following the recent declaration by the Ruler of the Emirate that the colossal Mohammed bin Rashid Gardens project is scheduled to go ahead.
Announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Gardens project is a core feature of the Mohammed Bin Rashid City, and will be 30 per cent larger than the 15.2 million square feet Hyde Park in London.
Projected to welcome more than 35 million visitors annually, the Mohammed bin Rashid Gardens are behind a recent surge of exhibitors signing up to participate in next month’s Outdoor Design Build & Supply show, taking place from 25-27 March at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
With so much green space anticipated in a country that only sees about 150 millimetres of rainfall annually, global players in irrigation technologies are also showing a keen interest at the dedicated three-day show, as they look to meet with key decision makers from government municipalities not only from Dubai, but from across the UAE and neighbouring Gulf States.
Among them include the Mexican manufacturer Eltech, which will launch at the event an economical water saving irrigation solution ideally suited to the dry and sandy soils prevalent in the region. The new technology, called Perma-Garden, enhances the humidity content in soils, thus avoiding water loss during the irrigation process, essentially storing the water until needed.
Jose Antonio Garcia Diaz, General Manager at Eltech commented: “What is unique about Perma-Garden is that its application provides a new and easy solution for dry and sandy soil by avoiding water loss into the ground, and instead storing it, making it available on demand for plants, grass and trees.”
“Perma-Garden is perfect for many of the companies taking part in the development of the new Dubai and GCC green areas to achieve tangible and fast results. It is perfect for large and compromised landscaping projects because it improves germination and roots development of new plants, grass and trees.”
Another player in irrigation with big plans for the inaugural edition of Outdoor Design Build & supply is Italian company Clabermeteo, which will launch five separate irrigation solutions, including Aqualab, Futura, Aquameteo, RF, Meteolab, and Aqua Wireless.
Meanwhile, there will be stiff competition on the exhibition floor from established local players looking to consolidate their presence in the region, with Fitco Irrigation and Orient Irrigation leading the charge on the local market front.
Other headline exhibitors recently signed up at Outdoor Design Build & Supply include Global Light & Power, Grass By The Metre, Greenworks, Ithara Group, Landscape ME, Novella Arte Publico, Proscape, The InOut Company, and Vortex Aquatic Structures International.
Partnered with Dubai Municipality, and supported by Municipality of Abu Dhabi City and Al Ain Municipality, Outdoor Design Build & Supply is the only event in the Middle East to create a platform for landscaping practitioners from all over the world to discuss, share, and exchange new practices in the outdoor business sector.
Visitors to Outdoor Design Build & Supply will include government and urban planning officials, corporate project managers and horticulture experts who will give exhibitors the opportunity to strengthen existing relationships while putting them in front of a targeted market.
Outdoor Design Build & Supply is supported by the largest buyers of outdoor products and services. More information is available at www.theoutdoorshow.ae.
